Second Star to the Right

It’s comforting to hear a music that exactly speaks what your heart longs to say.

A song composed by Moira Dela Torre,

entitled Second Star to the Right.

A story of a girl who wishes upon a little star,

hoping that someday God will grant her heart desires.

But at the long run of waiting, life seems unfair,

wondering if God ever hears her pray,

not until he met the one he exactly prayed.

When I was young and naïve,

 never did I doubt God’s existence not until I found myself empty.

Empty for how many times I’ve been disrespected.

Emptied from being devalued.

Emptied for being rejected and betrayed.

For all my life, I thought my worth is found on the people I love;

from my parents, friends and other half.

Just to find myself saving myself,

running after the people I gave my love away

but none seems to care to reciprocate.

I got tired,

and swear to myself not to beg love from anyone again.

From that day, I’ve never been serious in my life,

for I know that numbers doesn’t define my worth.

That worth doesn’t cost any number or a beautiful face.

Worth doesn’t cost a cent or a popular name.

For how many times I choose to love than to hate,

to forgive than to revenge.

But why do they still choose to hurt me among others?

So I cried and prayed to God,

I was shouting and weeping

“God! is this my worth??!”,

“who I am to you?!”

Tell me I am your daughter!

I can’t even brag of who I am

because I don’t know what I got.

Love is all I have to give,

 but love betrayed and wreck me.

But the old me is gone. New creation has come.

Psalm 116

The Lord is gracious and righteous;

Our God is full of compassion.

The Lord protects the unwary;

When I was brought low, he saved me.

Return to your rest, my soul,

For the Lord has been good to you.

For you, Lord, have delivered me from death,

My eyes from tears,

My feet from stumbling,

That I may walk before the Lord

In the land of the living.

he is gracious and righteous.

He never forsakes nor forget me.

He listens every detail of my heart and heals every wounds of it.

Second Star to the Right, as I set this song on repeat,

I feel my lips smiling at both ends.

For today, I am living the life once I prayed of having I thought I could’ve imagine

A life once I thought I am not worth living.

John 14:6

Jesus said,

I am the way

The truth and the life

No one comes to the father except through me

But because of His great love

He serves as my strength on my feet to walk the way closer to Him

He serves as the bridge and gave me a heart, so courageous and brave

The truth enlighten my eyes and now I see my purpose in life

Matthew 7:7

Ask and it will be given to you;

Seek and you shall find

Knock and it shall be opened up to you

Short verses but remarkable

Brief but bold and sweet

Invisible but alive

He pursue you because he loves you, and that your worth having.

No but’s nor amount of sin can measure how much God loves you!

If you seek Him with all your heart,

He will reveal His glory

and there you are,

having that slow clap, saying– Amen.
